And it had me thinking: Is there a website / software similar to typeracer that also has drills for certain key combinations, symbols, hard words, etc.? Personally i have reached 130 wpm a couple of times in typeracer but that's not my typing speed.
More practice is the most important factor.
The only real benefit for me is that the faster you learn to type, the more comfortable it will be at slower. Type racer is definitely better than monkeytype , yeah its time consuming but if you regularly type in monkeytype and switch to type racer you can see a drastic decline in your typing. What is the average speed for an actual typing enthusiast? As you start getting into the higher speeds, it's exponential regarding the practice you need to increase.

I use monkeytype solely to improve accuracy, to have fun i go to typeracer, was barely hitting 70 on typeracer apprx 2mnths back now i am frequently hitting 90 (80+ is my average speed. It wants you to type at 50+ wpm and have perfect accuracy.
