I think maybe they don't belong among the easier races, because they do pose a challenge that is not easily solved. I have struggled with kjas as well. I'm not sure how to name that type of games, where you lead a state/culture/faction of some sort, develop it, expand, exploit areas and struggle over their control with other factions.
