Slow is almost always used with verbs that denote movement or action, and it regularly follows the verb it modifies. Not happening quickly taking more time than is expected or wanted Moving, happening, or doing something without much speed:

If someone is slow to do something, they do it after a delay. Slow is the least specific: See examples of slow used in a sentence. Used absolutely, not quick to comprehend;

In actual practice, slow and slowly are not used in quite the same way. Not happening in a short time; I've been a bit slow in making up my mind. Paid a late fee because i was dilatory.
